The Pencil Post bed was the first truly American version of the poster bed. The textile hangings used on these original Pencil Post Beds were often among the owner's most valuable possessions. In homes with few separate bedrooms, the hangings were closed around the sleepers for privacy and warmth. Pictured in Tiger Maple with a traditional finish, 81” post height and small 3” acorn finials. This bed also looks great painted.
